Lafayette Criterium

This race was tough and by the end I was only a few beats from my max HR. To me the course seemed very technical and the sharp turns killed me. I almost lost it twice when my pedal struck the ground. I didn't have a problem catching up on the straight aways or the climb but the turns made it seem like interval work. My goal was just to finish and not crash again. Otherwise my road rash would rub right to the bone! In addition to parking, this race kinda sucked in that there were no cameras to see what place you came in. All I know is I was at the back 1/3 of the race after the last turn and 200 meters from the finish. I busted into a long sprint and passed a ton of riders who were gassing out near the finish. At the finish line I counted 15-16 people who were in front of me. I was surprised. Hey man, I guess those Tuesday Eureka Sprints work!!!
